Joe?

Can anyone tell me who the tall gent that played "Joe" in the Blue Monday sequence is? He was wearing pin stripe pants and danced and sang the song about his Mother. Thanks

Can't confirm this, but it might be Harry Stockwell, father of Dean Stockwell, doing the part in blackface. Also it might be Anne Brown, who was Bess, doing Vi.

I am doubting the source because the listing of John B. Hughes a being part of this number is wrong, as he was the announcer at the Gershwin memorial concert. Harry Stockwell was the voice of Prince Charming in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

I love "Blue Monday." I have had an LP of it that I bought back in 1979. It is really a great work.

All the world is a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.
