Was Al's Car a 1937 chevy? I do remember that it had the suicide doors.

reply

A 1937 Chevy did not have suicide doors. I know because that was the first car I ever owned.

Yes, that's a 1937 Chevrolet Master Deluxe... all steel and a 216 cube straight six. Today it's regarded as the best Chevy of the 30's (although the preferred street rod fodder is the 2-door). Since Garfield is supposed to be a $40 a week welder before Pearl Harbor, it's a logical choice for the film. The car would've been worth $350-400 just before the war.
