Pillow of Death (1945) will be shown on Svengoolie on MeTV on Saturday, 11 June 2016, at 9PM central time. 

I haven't seen this one before, and this may be the first time Sven has shown it. 

Brenda Joyce is the leading lady. She is best remembered for playing Jane to two different Tarzan actors, Johnny Weissmueller and Lex Barker. Brenda only appeared in movies from 1939-1949, and then left the business, never to return. 

From the description, Pillow of Death sounds quite similar to Calling Dr. Death (1943), which Sven showed last month. It starred Lon Chaney, Jr., as a tormented doctor. In Pillow of Death, he seems to be a tormented lawyer. But, Lon Chaney, Jr., seemed to be tormented in every horror/thriller movie he made for Universal. 

Nothing beats a Universal 1940s tormented Lon Chaney horror/thriller movie on a Saturday night.  

I've never seen this movie. I've never heard of this movie. It looks good enough for a quiet Summer evening. Chaney, Jr. almost always gives good performances. I'd watch it just for him. It's not an all star blockbuster that's for sure.

I am gradually enjoying my way through this Lon Chaney Jr. 'Inner Sanctum' series. The best one I've seen so far is 'Calling Dr Death' (1943).
