Different shades of black and white...

...from certain scenes to others...watching now on TCM. Does anyone know why? I'm assuming, as they do sometimes with movies on TCM, footage is restored later and doesn't match. Wish I was a friend of Robert Osborne...would love to ask questions about all old movies!

I noticed it moreso with movies that aired yesterday on TCM - The Leopard Man, in particular - than I'm seeing with this print. It just seems jarring when we view the color portrait and then look at a B&W Dorian Gray. Other than that I haven't seen any really instances.

I thought it was subtle enough not to be a distraction. Definitely there though.

First time watching this film. Really enjoyed it. Donna Reed, such a beauty. Angela Lansburry as well, I have just always had a crush on Donna since childhood.

They do such remarkable work restoring these movies.

I'm halfway through the film and haven't noticed it.

I noticed and found it distracting.
