The color shot of young Dorian freaked me out

I saw this on TCM the other day and the intro said there was a big color sequence at the end.

They didn't mention that 10 minutes into the film, there was the bright color shot of Dorian. That made me jump out of my seat!

Here I am expecting a dry black and white British film with a big color ending, and they shocked me ten minutes into it. It was more frightening because it was unexpected. Later on, they first showed a black and white shot of the monster, then went to color, which wasn't a big deal because I was prepared for it.

But that first color shot of Dorian jolted me into reality!
