The meaning of the toy blocks

For those of you who already figured it out, Bravo! and if there is already a thread about this subject, sorry!
OK, As people die, the blocks appear with their initials in the attic. However, there is a large "8" over a large "D". I believe in the beginning, this meant "8 deaths due to Dorian.
We do see a SV for Sibyl Vane, and there is "ST" also in the beginning. I believe that is meant to be for "Sir Tristan" who is now dead due to Dorian's evil. He is dead figuratively.
Next are BH for Basil Halliwell. But only mentioned are the "boy who committed suicide and Lord Wallace's wife. We don't know their names but are mentioned.
We are up to 5. Then AC for Allen Campbell. Next is Jim Vane who get shot. OK, 7.
And finally, Dorian dies. He is #8 and if you look at the blocks, the "8" is now a "G"! so, 8 deaths. And above the large blocks are 2 small ones, OW for Oscar Wilde! That is also only at the end.
OK, does anyone think I figured it out?! I hope so! :)
