Does it state Kino and Juana dying?

Sorry, just on Wiki it mentioned them dying and I, having recently read the book, had no memory of that happening.

At the end Kino killed the trackers but the baby died in the process, Kino and Juana go back home and throw the Pearl in the Ocean. End of story, they didn't die.

I haven't read Steinbeck's novel but considering how involved he was in this project (he co-wrote the screenplay) I doubt he would have altered the ending so drastically.

In the movie Quino and Juana doesn't dies, just their son "Juanito", and yes they threw the pearl into the ocean. very beautiful and powerful scene.

In the movie the two trackers quietly dissapeared. The dealer shot the kid trying to kill Quino, and Quino killed the dealer with a knife.
