The 102 min version

Can someone please tell me what happened in the 9 min left out of the US version?

reply

Not sure. Do you know what content was left out? It would be interesting to know.

To this day I do not know what transpired in those nine minutes. Wanting to know speaks to the quality of this little known picture (only 669 votes at present). I recall Robert Donat having an endearing sort of Colin Firth quality about him. Deborah Kerr was a marvelous actress whom I most recently enjoyed as Sister Angela in Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison.

I've researched this quite a bit, and as far as I know, the Roland Culver scenes seem a bit short, but the differences could be anywhere. If you happen to miss the main title card and wonder which version you're watching, in the shorter American cut Peter Lawford reads a narration up front.

But from what I can tell, the long version was shown only in the U.K. shortly after the war, and it may no longer be available. If someone from the U.K. can help illuminate the missing parts, please do.

Thanks for the info, pt100. I'd like to rewatch Perfect Strangers soon.
