I wish he had done Ivan The terrible, PART III before he died!!!!

Shangers,

He had dee storyboards, and apparentsly had done some preliminary shooting on it, crews were gearing up to shoot it, sets, costumes, actors, ets, etc, etc

And then the plug was pulled on the whole project!!!!!!!!! It's a shame.... would have been a fitting ending to a great trilogy...... did you see dee battle scenes, in IVAN 1.... anyone else notice distinct simularities to dee battle scenes of Lord of dee Rings...... Its a great homage, I think!!!!!

Given how angered and dissatisfied Stalin was over Part Two, and refusing to release it, it's very unlikely that he would have permitted the filming of Part Three since obviously no one in the USSR would be allowed to see it.

The theater's too deep for me. I prefer bicycling.

The plug that was pulled, I think, was the fact Eisenstein died.
If Eisenstein would have outlived Stalin then much would be different. We would have a lot more of his films to enjoy.
Unfortunately Stalin lived several years longer.

It is amazing that we have as much as we do have though. Eisenstein was too much of a keen intellect to be completely silenced by way of political lobotomy. Stalin was no dummy but he couldn't fully grasp everything Eisenstein accomplished.
