How did you like this stooge short? I thought it was a very good effort and it would be on par with their best stooge shorts (Hoi Polloi, Calling All Curs, A Plumbing We Will Go, Dutiful But Dumb, An Ache in Every Stake, Catcus Makes Perfect, They Stooge to Conga, Higher Than a Kite and Crash Goes the Hash) if it wasn't for Curly's declining health.
shareDidnt care for it.Not enough funny spots and Curly's terrible performance just was too distracting to forget the negatives about the whole short.The days of Punch Drunks was truly over.I guess you could say this was when the Stooges were "jumping the shark".
I think it was on par with their best work. It appears that Curly had his good days and bad days and this, in my opinion, was one of his good days.
In his book, Moe said some days he did not know which Curly was going to show up: the one on where he was on top of his game or the one where Moe had to help him along and feed him his lines.
Too bad the studio did not give him the rest and treatment he needed for stay healthy when his health was failing. This was one of the shows where Larry got to do more and maybe that was to help Curly and it worked.
