Mark Cousins has suggested that the pier at Carsaig should be preserved as it was a prominent location in this much-loved movie and for film fans is like a place of pilgrimage. He doesn't want to see it finally disappear into the sea.
He is right.
None of us want to see it disappear. But it's privately owned and the owners don't seem inclined to repair or even preserve it. I don't know if it could be bought separately without buying Carsaig House (also seen in the film) and the land as well.
So it's quite easy to say that it should be preserved.
It's much harder to actually get it done
