MST3K DVD Cover

I've watched this episode many times, as it's one of my favourites. But there's something that has always seemed "off" about the DVD cover, and I think I just figured it out. I may be nuts, but I don't think the two film characters on the front cover are from "I Accuse My Parents," which also suggests that the shot itself is NOT from the film either. The characters KIND OF look like Kitty Reed and Charlie Blake, but upon closer examination——and it helps if you have the DVD playing while studying this——you realize that it's NOT them.

Anyone else notice this as well?

reply

I noticed this not too long after I bought the DVD, but I thought it was just me. Glad to know someone else thought this was odd. (Also, I thought maybe I was crazy). :)

reply

I thought it was Kitty and Jimmy's dad.

But when were Kitty and Jimbo's dad in the same scene together... and so close? I wanna say it's Blake, but then I'd be wrong. The quote Servo is spouting on the cover is from a scene between Kitty and Blake...

Initially, I would have agreed with you, but look at their faces and ears. It just looks like two different people. I dunno. Maybe it's my blood alcohol content.

Or theirs!

"Remember we are fighting for this woman's honor, which is probably more than she ever did!"

reply

Maybe the explanation is in the cover comment, "How'd she get stuck with that old coot?"

Are Kitty and Jimmy's dad not together on screen after the verdict is read?

Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.

Five years late to the party, but this is Kitty and Jimmy's Dad (looking at the VHS cover right now) but it looks like two completely different photos spliced together. Hence why you don't see this scene in the movie.
