Availability of this movie

Is "The House I Live In" available for purchase (video,DVD, etc.)?

This film may be included in a video bio of Sinatra which is also titled "The House I Live In."

A description of this bio can be found at http://800-buy-movies.com/altdvdgr/gr109639D1.htm

This discription seems to say that the film, or at least part of it, is included in this bio.

I've heard that it is also part of the AMC Rat Pack collection. I haven't seen this collection but "House I Live In" is probably included with one of the features, or perhaps its included with other shorts.

I wish you luck with your search for this film because it is worth finding. It is sincere and well made. In addition to the title song, complete prints begin with Sinatra in the recording studio singing "If You Are But a Dream." It is interesting to see the 1945 recording apparatus and studio.

I wish this film was more accessable to the general public. I own a 16mm print of it and it has become a favorite of my friends.

Regarding the song "If you are but a dream" sung by Sinatra -this is certainly Hollywood music at its most magical-however do you have any information about
1- the conductors name ?

2-the studio details-MGM or RKO-any other films it was used for?

Any other details would be welcome about this filmed recording.Cheers!

FWIW 6 years later, TCM has this and just aired it. They do list these shorts on their monthly schedule available on their website. Maybe it will be on again.
