Real executions?

Just saw this today, an Allied propaganda movie portraying the German people as conquerors throughout the last 150 or so years, leading up to their current offensive against the free states and the dismantling of the German war machine at the end.

Lots of German footage of their own country, the positives and the nasty negatives (like Holocaust footage) and I saw two moments during a beheading and a firing squad execution that made me wonder if they were mocked up for the movie or real. Only one execution is carried out, although we see a man prepared to be guillotined and see the blade, but the latter looked like just a mock-up to me.

Frank Capra directed this, apparently. Yes, the It's a Wonderful Life guy! I think it's possibly a mock-up because it was put together around the time the war ended, showing the explosion of the Nuremberg Gate swastika. In any case, it's got quite a set of mixed likes and dislikes on YouTube, as I think Germans will not like the way it shows them. Or maybe people were lulled in by the wholesome sights of Germany as a country and potential tourist trap before being shown dead bodies en masse.

I only saw this because I saw another old film called "Know Your Ally: Britain" and afterwards, I'm going to see the American military's propaganda concerning Japan.
