I am watching this movie right now for the first time and think it is wonderful. It's about faith in God and in this day and age I don't think people think that much about God anymore. Dennis Morgan did a fine job of acting in this movie and the look on his face in the close ups is so very sincere that it almost makes you cry. I'm not a church goes, but I believe in God and prayer.

As for the OP ... I agree that Morgan was exceptionally effective in the role. He seemed remarkably thoughtful and intellectually peaceful to me.
This film is better than it's 6.5 rating. I will bet it took a bit of a hit due to the religious theme. It happens a lot.
