This, Seriously, Is Otto's Best "Directed" Movie

FALLEN ANGEL took a long time to really grow on me.

And Otto's LAURA and WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS are better films, with better acting and much tighter stories.

But as far as his signature floating camera style and overall directing style, having seen all his movies and especially loving the Dana Andrews Noir, this one, wow, the direction flows better than anything else, even LAURA, which relied mostly on images and editing where this one has a much more moving style to the camerawork.

This movie has incredible "direction," which is a verb when it comes to Otto Preminger, especially in this case. No one really ever compared 1970's Scorsese to Preminger, but the styles are similar.

I already wrote a review, now on paper, about this, and haven't yet posted it but as I watch more, it needs rewriting.
