Did Michael Jackson get the moon walk from this movie?

Yes, and his late-era hairstyle from Baptiste's first scene. MJ is well-documented fan and borrower of this movie. The estates of Marcel Carné and Jacques Prévert each became fabulously wealthy after copyright lawsuits against Jackson - and yet MJ still professed love for the movie and it's creators. He said they deserved every penny they got.

I remember watching this film years ago. Can’t remember a thing about it, aside from that it was on Sight and Sound top ten films ever for a while.

It was all right, but I agree with the person who said it needed a Garbo or Dietrich to really work.
