Ryan Gosling is so channeling the 1940's Lawrence Tierney

Really thought the part in Driver was a composite hommage to L. Tierney and S. McQueen. Then watch him in only God forgives.
The only difference is the voice. Gosling sounds like he inhales four gallons of helium every morning for breakfast.
