Tiny detail Challenge

The motorcycle cop who accosts Al after he's dumped the body in the desert uses a tank-side handle shifter to put his motorcycle into first gear just before putting away in the rain. Those were known as Police Shifters, and were commonly specified on law enforcement motorcycles. Available as late as 1979 on Harley Davidson and other brands.
