Mr. 'M' gives 'em the finger?

Mr. Marchand, now sitting snugly in the chauffered limousine and looking up at the ladies in the window of the welfare center, puts on his decrepit glove and suddenly... his middle finger pops out in a rather suggestive manner, no? lol

It's funny, because I caught this movie on TCM and just a few nights before, I saw another movie on TCM, "Nothing Sacred," in which twice in the movie there were some subtle (or not so subtle) examples of people giving the finger. I guess back then, because of The Code, you had to be rather creative about it.
