All By Myself

When Laura is sat smoking on the bench and walking down the street Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff. I heard it as All By Myself and it reminded me of Bridget Jones's Diary. All By Myself hadn't even been written when this film came out, but it still reminded me of the similarities to Bridget Jones.

Yes I noticed the same thing! I was mentally singing along to All By Myself.

This film helped popularize the Piano Concerto No. 2 - actually, a number of well-remembered 1940s films used classical music on their soundtracks (Max Steiner, for instance, incorporated Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B. Minor - the "Pathetique" into his score for 1942's NOW, VOYAGER).

In my case, self-absorption is completely justified.

Yes, I heard it clearly too. And again as they are walking alone and he tells her he is going away.

In the trivia section, it's noted that Eric Carmen used Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff for All By Myself.
