Whatever happened to Joan Carroll?

She seems to have dropped off of the face of the earth in the 50's.
According to IMDB, she seems to have been doing location work in the Bahamas for several films in the late 90's, and early 00's, but it seems that info is wrong. I did some research and was able to contact that Joan Carroll and she informed me that she's not the same person. So where IS Joan Carroll? I haven't been able to find any info on the web that says what happened to her after the 50's.

There is a post on Joan Caroll's board from "noelmary" in October 2007. She states that her mother Joan Carroll is in good health and residing in the midwest. The mother of 4, grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 7. "The Bells of St. Mary's" was her last movie and IMDb is incorrect about the four later titles.
