The camera shaking everytime there was an explosion

Anyone notice that? It was an odd effect, was it intentional?

I think it was intentional... I can imagine the DP or Dmytryk himself sticking the camera on the wall, and let the special effects guys go crazy..

And sometimes it shakes...a little before the explosion.
