Abner Biberman

Actor Biberman also shows up in "Back to Bataan" as a bearded Japanese Official in the office of Leonard Strong, in the scene with Michael Mark, Richard Loo and Philip Ahn.

Uncredited role? Someone should probably update that on the main page. Thanks for the information.

reply

He is listed in the cast. Second from the bottom, as a Japanese Captain.

Help stamp out and do away with superfluous redundancy

reply

"Bearded" Japanese Official?
I think not! He was the captain of the Japola occupation forces that hung the school principal and was in turn hung by the guerrillas.

reply

When you see the movie again, please observe very closely the bearded guy the Japanese general flashed his knife at next to him. Same guy. I presume there was not that many Japanese actors employed at the time. Mr. Abner Biberman was an American.
There were four other stars that are on the Hollywood walk of fame.

reply

I absolutely agree, after being strung up as the Japanese captain he appears along side Leonard Strong (General Homma) in his office. I guess there was a shortage of character actors on the set.

reply

Right. He plays two parts in this movie.
