this movie is a joy!!! one of the best mgm musicals of the 40s.

i love kathryn grayson in this one. she looks beautiful especially singing "jealousie". at times, she makes me think of walt disney's "snow white"!!!

She remindes me of Snow White as well! Especially with her black hair, very white complexion and soprano voice.
I love this movie, it is very good entertainment. A good way to forget about the real world, and get lost in the fantastic technicolour fantasy that is a top-notch MGM musical!

Kathryn Grayson had the most extraordinary voice and she looked very beautiful in this film as well.

susan abbot make me think a type of nice girl that today is not so common s.she and the move too is so nice with ingenuity and sinple that it's impossible not to like that.loook at the dress too. great!and the song...idem!
as italain i want to thank old american for make this movie.too bad now american are not the same....

I also enjoyed Kathryn Grayson and her movies. Is it me or does she not get enough attention when it comes to the MGM musicals, especially this one! I dunno Ms. Grayson is so underrated and a great talent. Anyone have an address where she accepts fan mail? I wouldn't mind sending her a letter! I just love her movies!

I never realized but she kinda does look like Snow White.

I enjoyed this movie - I thought Ms. Grayson did a fine job, but her vocal style in this movie are not my cup of tea.

I thought she sounded like Snow White also, but for me.. that's not a good thing. I'm not quite a fan of Snow White's high pitched opera voice.

The thing about KG is that when she first appears she seems to be flat and lifeless. This continues until she appears for her first number in the Mexican restaurant singing Jealousie. After that she has the Grayson sparkle. I wonder if they shot the movie in sequence?

I was not fond of the sunflower dress, but her other outfits were pretty. She did have a nice vocal range.

Grayson's rendition of "Jalousie" was definitely one of this film's highlights.

I love Kathryn. I scoured ebay for months looking for the sheet music to Waltz Serande so I could learn to sing it.

i don't know what it is about her really but she really spoils this film for me. on the one hand i do agree that she has an amazing voice.... but maybe i just hate sopranos. i have nothing against the woman, and i liked her in 'kiss me kate'... not keen on some of her costumes or maybe i think she's in this too much, or maybe it's something about the storyline, i don't know... maybe it's even the film in general, where it has all the right elements but they just don't work for me.

ah well, we can't all love everything i suppose.

That reminds me of the brides on Say Yes to the Dress who don't know what they like or don't like but they will know "the dress" when they wear it. :)

I might suggest she seems too saccharine and too passive in this. It's hard to believe anyone gets very far in Hollywood with a personality like that. She played the opposite in Kiss Me Kate so she demonstrated a wide range in her acting. I love her singing, and Joe calling her by the same name as Donald is adorable, but I prefer to watch Deanna Durbin's tougher characters who would do all sorts of wild and wacky things to get ahead.

Still, it's a fun movie and the music and dancing are a delight.
