Clark Gable, Hard coming back from fighting a war

I can see why they cast Garson with Gable right after WW II ended. Garson was at her best, Gable wasn't & had reason to be losing his wife while fighting Germans. A period of 4 long years away from Hollywood is a long time. Wrong movie for Gable altogether , co-star, script & timing. Gable should of jumped into a WW II movie with a couple of good support actors with some romance into it. It would of eased him back into the drivers seat. There were many war flicks being made during & especially afterwards. Garson was good, Gable was a great actor, but this was the wrong movie & co star.
