It's a little unclear what you're referring to, but is it that Alexander Knox's name doesn't appear at the top of the cast list? If so, and this is mentioned on another thread, it's listed last in the list of credited actors (before the uncredited list -- click on "more" at the bottom of the home page). It looks odd, but it's apparently because Knox's name is listed last in the credits in the film itself. Or are you talking about something else?

i'm confused too.

Occasionally a film will list its star last among the actors in the movie, usually to emphasize the person's name or his being the main character.

In the case of Wilson, with a vast cast of actors both credited and uncredited, and where the lead actor was a relative unknown, it made sense to show the supporting cast first, then close the acting credits by showing in huge letters, "And Alexander Knox as Woodrow Wilson". This makes his name stand out from the rest.

Another example is Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia, who's listed last in the cast, where the credits read "And Introducing Peter O'Toole as T.E. Lawrence". There are other films which have done similar things. Since such actors are usually the leads (or at least have important roles), the very fact of listing them last makes them stand out in the audience's mind.

IMDb policy is to list credited actors in the order in which they appear in the film's credits. Hence, Alexander Knox is shown last among the credited actors (but ahead of the uncredited list) on this site.

He should have won the Oscar for his performance in this film, which also should have won Best Picture and Best Director.

didn't know that. thx for clearing it up.

You're most welcome.

Another example IIRC is "Empire of the Sun" with "... And introducing Christian Bale."

"I don't deduce, I observe."

Yes. And there are others. But the OP never did reply to explain exactly what he was talking about. We've all just assumed it's listing Knox last in the cast, but he was anything but clear, especially since he seemed to be talking "to" IMDb itself. After almost seven years, I doubt he'll be back to explain.
