shareSeeing how your post is dated in 2012, I'm not expecting a response but I saw this last night and had no idea it was a series. Was the film first or did they just broadcast it that way?
shareI'm not sure that I understand what you are asking. There were a total of 8 Whistler films, the first one being "The Whistler" from 1944. TCM often shows several of the films on the same night or at the same day/time on successive weeks. There was also a Whistler radio show that aired on the radio for about 10 years starting in the early 1940's. There are over 500 of these radio shows. Finally, there was a Whistler TV series in 1954-55 that had about 39 episodes.
shareI was asking if the Whistler was the first of its kind and they did the radio/TV series begin after this film. OR was a film made after the success of the radio/TV series.
