Good Movie but really strange Ending *spoilers*

I recently purchased this great set of 6 Inner Sanctum Lon Chaney movies & they're really good little movies. The ending to 'Weird Woman' kind of puzzled me tho'. Maybe I read too many Creepy/Eerie/TalesfromCrypt comics but I was sure very early on in this movie when Chaney meets his future wife at a Voodoo Ritual in South America how this movie would conclude. I was almost positive that either Lon Chaney was killed for crossing the 'Sacrificial Line' of the native tribes, or his wife had given her life for his at this time? He's coming to with bandages on his head.. Anyone else have that take on the movie? It looked like the Natives encircled Chaney to kill him with knives/machetes. Next scene is him waking up on a bed and his wife is telling him he's lucky to be alive with all of his wounds. She and a witch dr. woman are setting out voodoo dolls & burning shells, leaves & what ever else goes into a spiritual reviving voodoo formula. Also, his wife wears an amulet over her heart that she NEVER REMOVES! wooooooooo voodoooooooo Later at their home in America she's constantly sneaking out at night to acquire hair, leaves, shells, eye of newt, tongue of bat etc. Tired of the proceedings Chaney mid-way thru the movie makes his wife gather up all of her voodoo telling her it was hoodoo he throws it all in their fireplace including the Amulet which explodes!! I was sure one of them would be an engulfed flaming Corpse screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!... Oh well, it turned out that all of this magic was coincidence, fake, and only in their imagination. What? And they lived happily ever after. Really, they lived happily ever after.. Aw C'mon! The other funny thing about this pic was about 5 or six of them trick a Woman into admitting she lied twice to get Chaney off the hook for murder. She didn't murder or hurt anyone though. She just 'lied' about 2 things which resulted in a suicide and another accidental death. Therefore this woman at the end was hung and killed. For lying? Seems a little harsh. That's well and good BUT I STILL WANT MY VOODOO CORPSE BURNING DECOMPOSING IN FLAMES YELLING NOOOOOOOOO! The happy ending (with the two kissing and cutely 'knocking on wood') just didn't hold up for me. Get the set tho as all 6 movies are well worth watching and Lon Chaneys tormented expressions and thoughts 'out loud' are worth the price of admission! I just got this 6 movie DVD set on ebay for under 5 bucks! Check it out.
