Second half really drags

The movie starts out bright enough, but that second half is interminable. By the end I couldn't care less who is who and what is what.

"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"

I have to second that- I finally saw the movie again after absolute ages and was as gripped and excited about it as when I saw it for the first time as a youngster- it`s a brilliant movie and not at all boring. Miss Holloway gives me goosebumps!

It is our choices that show what we truly are... far more than our abilities.

It is the other way around, it really gets going in the second half.

I second that. And I am a big fan of Ray Milland.

Totally agree, first half starts off okay enough, and the last act was a convoluted mess. Too many people mentioned that were not onscreen. The mother of the girl, who had a Spanish housekeeper, someone threw themselves off the cliff... then the guy saw the ghost and tells her to be off the house is for the living. He said it like it was no big deal, that he didn't just see a supernatural ghost............... I really couldn't care less.
