Is this the WW2 movie in which the young pilot is "talked down" because he is blinded? If not, what movie is that?

Thanks!

I don't know which movie that is, but it is not this one. In this movie, one of the pilots of the Doolittle Raid undergoes a leg amputation after crash landing in China. He either has the leg amputated, or he dies.

No probs. Sorry I can't recall that other movie you're looking for. Hopefully someone knows the answer, 'cuz I'd like to know it too!

It's "Men of the Fighting Lady", also starring Van Johnson. I finally also remembered that Walter Pidgeon was in it, and traced it that way. Sorry for the lack of info. I'd only seen it when I was a child or a teenager and that was *!? yrs. ago - I won't say exactly how many but a loooonnng time ago! Now, I need to find it on DVD. It may not be as good a movie as I remember, but I'd love to see it again anyway.

Damn! I wish i had known that earlier... that movie was on TV just this very evening on TCM channel (Turner Classic Movies), but I didn't watch it (nor did I think to DVR it :((( ). I HAVE been watching a lot of their other war movies, though, as part of their Memorial Day Tribute.... But if it's any consolation, it's on YouTube and you can watch it, in eight or nine parts. Here's part one to get you started:

And, for a bonus, if you want to get to the part where the pilot is blind, it is apparently in this segment:
