Why Isn't this on DVD?

You can get Booty Call- The Directors Cut but not this? This is a great movie. VHS is dead as a medium. This needs to be on DVD.

I agree 100% here! One year later and there is all kinds of crap, new and old, on DVD, yet this classic still has not been given the chance. Perhaps an email or a few to the studio will convince them to do the transfer and convince the execs that there is still money to be made here. After all, that is the bottom line, will it sell. I think it will.

It is on DVD classic Collection War 2010 (that latest date on my DVD case). I'm watching the DVD as I type!

I'll put my two cents in--yes, I would LOVE to see this movie on DVD. I can't think of any good reason that it's not. I would definitely buy at least 2 copies; one for myself and at least one for a gift. Perhaps some legal or copyright issue? Any IMDb'ers with inside info?

There are some great reasons why this is not on DVD. First, it waves our beautiful flag too much. Second, there's the danger someone might actually learn something about a little piece of the history of this great nation.

I just ordered this film on DVD this afternoon from a place called "Movies Unlimited". It comes as part of a six-disc WWII commemorative set that also includes "Air Force" with John Garfield, Harry Carey, and Gig Young, "Command Decision" with Clark Gable, Walter Pigeon, and Brian Donlevy, "The Hill" will Sean Connery, and two other great movies.

Now if the powers-that-be would only deign to give us "Bombers B-52", "The McConnell Story", "A Gathering Of Eagles", "Strategic Air Command", "Fighter Squadron", "Above And Beyond", "Toward The Unknown", the "Steve Canyon" boxed set......

The new DVD arrived yesterday. It looks terrific. There are some jitters in the opening titles, but either they went away or I got used to it.

As usual, I cried when the old man brought the gifts to the crew. By the way, I've read the book (I highly recommend it), and that incident really happened. In fact, the whole film is amazingly historically accurate.
