Where's their son?

Is it me, or is it totally weird that they visit his family who they haven't seen in years and nobody in the family asks about their son.

In fact there was only one casual reference that they had a child by a passerby and that went unanswered.

There is actually one mention of the grandson in an early scene with the grandparents but it's such a throwaway that if you blinked you missed it. Either Nick or Nora (we just watched it tonight and I can't even remember which one) says that the kid has just started kindergarten and they didn't want him to miss school. Agree with you that it's weird for the kid not to go along on a visit to grandparents who haven't seen him in years (if ever), and for the grandparents to express no interest. I think that the producers correctly figured that the kid would be an awkward, unwelcome addition to the story but realized there had to be some explanation for his absence, if only a brief one lacking credibility.

Ahh, thanks. I totally missed it.

I loved them, but their parenting skills (from the previous one) were really lacking. Lol I wonder why the writers ever wrote a child into the scripts.

I think this is a generational thing because my parents did everything to keep us in school. There were a few times that they went out of state for family weddings and we were packed off to friends homes to stay. Missing school just wasn't something people took lightly. All of my dentist's appts. were after school and I had to have my wisdom teeth removed on a Friday to minimize absences.
