Does a print of this film exsist?

How come TCM never ran this film.
I have heard the "Lux Radio Theatre" version of it
and became very courious about the film itself...
Is it still around...or is it a lost FILM?

reply

I last saw this film at the Film Forum in New York City sometime within the past two years or so on a double bill of two Robert Siodmak films, this and Phantom Lady.

I've been married to one Marxist and one Fascist, and neither one would take the garbage out.

The Film Forum is screening the same double feature on July 26,2012.

reply

Being screened 11/24-25/2012 at the Stanford in Palo Alto, along with Phantom Lady.

Where's your crew?
On the 3rd planet.
There IS no 3rd planet!
Don't you think I know that?

reply

Fortunately, it is not a lost film, while not released in DVD (and hoping this will be fixed in the future), a 35 mm print has been showed recently in USA at Noir film seasons

The first time I saw this film was in 1975 on a Virginia television station. TBS would run it every now and then in the 80s, and I caught it on "USA " back in the mid 80s once. I have not seen it since. I loved the film. Another film produced over at Universal around that time, give or take a year or two was " Ivy " with Joan Fontaine. Two great films that Universal/MCA hasn't released so far.

The version I am watching was released in Spain on DVD - it does have dual audio English and Spanish

Half Irish, Half German - hated by all. But at least I'm not Welsh

reply

It's up on archive.org if you just want to see it.

Interesting comment as I am 3/4 Irish, 1/8 German and 1/8 Welsh...

Hi. If you are as ā€œdemandingā€ as I am with respect to picture quality, since I went to the site where you bought your film and noticed that it was given a ā€œBā€ grade, you may be interested in ā€œupgrading.ā€ I just started a new thread. At any rate, go to:

(Sorry, you will have to copy and paste that.)

I am VERY pleased with mine. I am almost sure that it was burned to disc from the Spanish PAL-formatted official Universal release. I would give it a 9 out of ten. There are no annoying station logos, and the picture is quite sharp indeed.
