Sometimes Blackface, Sometimes Whiteface

There has been much mention over the years of the phenomenon of Blackface, white performers appearing in black cork and taking on the appearance of black performers. Here we see that the opposite also occurred. In the movie's big production number scene, during which time this black and white movie becomes for a short time a color movie, there appeared in a dance number the Step Brothers, a black dance act. The scene has a harvest theme in line with the movie's title, and therein the Step Brothers appear as dancing scarecrows, ironically in Whiteface. Guess at times things worked out the other way.
