I've just seen the "restored" version with the previously "cut" 3 minutes of flashbacks .... well, they should have left it alone - the "flashbacks" really distract from the drama (and is really rather amateurish).

They were horrid! Certainly some of the worst moments in a film that has lots of very bad moments.
