Why did this movie disappear for 30 years

I saw it as a kid and then it vanished. Why?

It's not a good movie. I really enjoy light, whimsical movies. I also enjoy Cary Grant movies. I did not at all enjoy this movie.

There are plenty of movies that are not universally loved that have played on TV for decades. Although I personally enjoyed it (silly as it was, I still remember seeing it on TV in 1965), your response doesn't begin to answer question posed by original post. Far more likely is that its disappearance had something to do with contractual rights or studio's reluctance to spend money to digitally clean up a copy for home video market. Shelves of video stores would be empty if studios only released movies that were everybody's favorite--there simply is no such animal.

Just saw it last night for the first time and loved it. It was on THIS TV.

I'm so glad to see your post, because I fell asleep around the time that the little boy climbed out the window. I saw it on Antenna Tv, so I hope they run it again. I'd never heard of this movie.

reply

Back someone runs it soon. I enjoy old movies like this.

I just saw it on Get TV (like you probably just did) and couldn't figure out why they made this movie. It's one thing when a storyline is unrealistic, but this takes it to a whole other level and not in a good way. I love the cast, though.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.
