DVD

Please!!! Please!!! This needs to be available.

reply

Yes, it does. It seems that only Grant's comedies, by and large, make it to DVD. This is a wonderful example of his darker side, along with the Hitchcock movies. Whom do we harass??

reply

Turner Classic Movie's website, type in the title in the search engine, and vote for it to be released! Right now only fifty people have voted and we need more for it to be released.

This movie was just on TCM.
It is on VHS.
I have it recorded on my DVR and will watch it later.
Sorry I can't help other then to say keep an eye on Turner Classic Movies.
They play just about all the Great Movies at some point in time.

I taped it off TCM also and just watched it. I don't understand the ending. Have you watched it yet? I don't understand what is happening in the last scene. I'd appreciate your comments. I have to be cryptic in case you haven't watched it yet.

Thanks.

I agree. He is not entering his own house. Its one of his girlfriends. I'm almost sure its the girlfriend played by Jane Wyatt. But what happens after that? I mean where is his life headed? Probably, even he doesn't know.

reply

That's a good answer. If HE doesn't know, then it makes sense that the audience does not know, either.

Thank you, I'm so glad I'm not the only one here asking that. The TCM website confirms he's going into Jane Wyatt's (Aggie's) home. She seemed to be be doing well enough financially. I suppose they may have ended up together and had a decent life.

Warner Archives has released this movie on DVD-R in the U.S. It's available at wbshop.com, and eventually at other online stores.

it is coming to dvd aug 24 2010 announce on wbshop.com

And it's a remastered copy, something Warner Archives rarely does. I got it from a seller on Amazon just yesterday.

I saw part of this movie on TV when I was in either junior or high school. I remember being impressed with the dark mood, but not really understanding a lot of it. We'll see what 40 years has done to help my comprehension.
