Unlock Dresssing Room

Just finished watching the film. There is a scene where they show the room where the women dress for their concert and leave their coats, purses and other valuables. The door is wide open right next to the audience.

Is it just the "movies", or were people that trusting back in 1945? Seems to me that sure wouldn't happen today.

If you watch closely, there's a GI keeping watch at the door, who questions "Mike" (Margaret O'Brien) on her way to get a stool for her sister. An audience of U.S. servicemen during World War II was not likely to burglarize a ladies' dressing room. You may also notice that the girls were more wary of THEMSELVES getting into each other's stuff than they were about the soldiers.

What looked more worrisome to me was a little doll like Margaret being put on a train to New York City all by herself. Yikes! THAT sure wouldn't happen today!
