Walking around for 30 years?

In the beginning it is established that the events in the previous movie took place 30 years ago (At least that is the way I understood it), How come in that amount of time no one ever saw him, Karis, walking around the countryside, and how did he exist without the Tana leaves he needed during the cycle of the full moon?
Never depend on anything and you will never be disappointed.

Kharis wasnt walking around for 30 years, he was bumming rides which is why we first see him on the side of a road. ;)

But seriously(?), I thought old priest Zucco (who died in the previous movie!) implied Kharis was just a spirit now (since Kharis was turned to cinders in the previous movie). When the professor starts brewing Tana leaves, it sort of looks like Kharis materializes out of the darkness at the side of road. It's even more nonsensical than ever!

The scene at the beginning with the high priest/professor telling the story is saying that 30 years prior to "Ghost", Steve Banning and his band found the tombs of Kharis and Ananka (the events in 'The Mummy's Hand'. 30 years after 'Hand', the events of 'The Mummy's Tomb' took place, in which another high priest brought Kharis to America to take revenge on the Bannings for their desecration of the tomb of Ananka. I think it's safe to say that 'Ghost' is supposed to take place a few months after 'Tomb'.

Continuity really flies out the window in the next film, 'The Mummy's Curse', when both Kharis and Ananka's bodies have somehow managed to move underground all the way from Massachusetts to Louisiana, and some 25 years have passed.

youre right about the timeline,as they re-visit the professor who analyzed the wrappings in the mummys tomb..the timeline still puts the film well into the 60s,even though the cars and clothes are the same..some more--college student
played by robert lowery was 31 at the time(and looked it)..and by the by,the house in mummys tomb was burned down..didnt they find kharis' body? and if they didnt, shouldnt have that been a pretty big thing?
if they decided to continue the series,it should have revolved around the ability of a high priest to revive ANY mummy with the scroll of life and the leaves..this could keep a whole revenge thing going with new mummies..in fact, revenge of the mummy would be a good title..
