Ramsay Ames

I'm sending up a flare to see if there are any admirers of the lady who made The Mummy's heart beat again (or was it really the tanna leaves)?. Few women have looked better tied up in a dressing gown. It was said in Hollywood during the 1940s that Ramsay was one of the few actresses who could stop the cast and crew cold when she walked on to the set. Her smokey, exotic good looks framed by her dark hair put her in the Ava Gardner class, as far as I'm concerned. If you're on an island somewhere and get this bottle, let me know.

I haven't seen "The Mummy's Ghost" yet, but one day it will happen and I'll be sure not to blink when Ames is on screen.

Completely wholeheartedly agree, wow she was beautiful. She even looked good with the white streak in her hair, absolutly made a familiar movie memorable.

The way I see it, is that we weren't retreating, we were just attacking in a new direction.

While Ramsay Ames was in a rather short list of B-movies, and was best featured in "The Mummy's Ghost", perhaps her second best role was in the film "Calling Dr. Death", starring Lon Chaney Jr. where she also meets an unsavory end. "Calling Dr. Death" was released before she starred in "The Mummy's Ghost", but even then she had those smoldering good looks that made her stand out amongst Hollywood's cardboard blondes.

I saw the movie last night for the first time in my life, and I agree that she was truly gorgeous.

Not quite in Ava's class but a knockout nonetheless. She really looked great in the nightgown. Not a bad actress either.
