Well, as she grows older, she's definitely changed her voice...and it suits esrly middle-aged Fannie much better. However, it's still such an affected performance. But, I'm still enjoying it...watching the film for the first time as I write this comment.
shareI agree, but this is why Bette Davis was great. She wasn't afraid to play horrible, unflattering characters.
shareI could never understand why she put on that fake shrill affected voice. Its the one thing that ruined the movie.
shareI couldn't agree more. I know that she was supposed to be frail, but that horrible voice at the end did me in. All I could see was the makeup. It felt as if they were pushing it too hard.
