LOS ANGELES -- Betty Hutton, the actress and singer who brought a brassy vitality to Hollywood musicals such as "Annie Get Your Gun," has died in Palm Springs, Calif., at age 86.

A very GREAT ACTRESS!

reply

Yes, she was. And in "Miracle of Morgan's Creek" she was at her best. Sturges truly brought out the best of the entire ensemble cast.

Sturges truly brought out the best of the entire ensemble cast.
And he did it in virtually every film he ever made. His leading ladies were especially great, Betty Hutton being one of the best. She'll be missed.

This is the biggest thing to happpen to this state since we stole it from the Indians!

As is often quoted: "Dying is easy... Comedy is hard". Betty Hutton was great.

That's sad to hear. I just saw her in a special interview on TCM last night 7/11/2008 with Robert Osborne. Must have been an old interview. I thought Betty was great in every movie she did. I hope she was able to make up with her daughters before she passed. She mentioned in the interview that things were not well between her, and her daughters.
