Hume Cronyn's performance was great. I agree that his accent was weak.

reply

That is what I should have said. He is a great actor, but the accent was not up to par.

I don't know. Hume Cronyn was terrific in Brute Force. His performance as Munsey was stunning.

reply

She didn't play men as well though.

reply

Yeah, it's quite horrible, and it strays into a bad Aussie accent by the end. But Hume Cronyn is very, very good in 'The Postman always Rings Twice.'

reply

~ I thought Hume Cronyn was pretty good in this movie.

He would have been better off had the production staff cast him as a Canadian which he was in real life.

didn't even notice that he attempted to speak with a british accent!

reply

Wait, Hume Cronyn's character was supposed to be British!?

Oh well, he's still a FINE ACTOR though, despite him trying to squeeze every ALLIED accent into one person. xD

reply

I think he had a pretty good London accent. And it comes as no wonder, being that he was born in London.

He's terrific in the film, as he was in everything. And he's oddly sexy
in this movie, which I find intriguing.

reply

It did seem strange to see Hume Cronyn with a hint of libido in his scenes. He even takes his glasses off in this movie.

He was born in London, Ontario, Canada.

I though He was supposed to be Australian in this.

reply

He sounds Canadian to me. I've watched most of the film now and had no idea he was meant be British.
