Re-used footage

Boy was I surprised to see how Universal re-used the car chase scene from Never Give a Sucker An Even Break at the end of the film! It's been my favorite car chase on film ever. (the car chase in What's Up Doc is a close second though). But what made me bring it up on the discussion board is that I was even more surprised to see additional footage that probably was shot for the Fields film that wasn't used - and most of it was shot in Atwater village where I used to live. Interesting to note are the background shots showing the old equestrian centers alongside the LA river (now the Golden State Freeway) and what appears to be a section of road where Los Feliz Blvd passes under the railroad tracks along what used to be the Franciscan Pottery company. This "new" material shows footage shot from both East and West directions on the Glendale-Hyperion bridge and you can see glimpses of the adjacent neighborhood whizzing by. Pretty cool to a resident. There's also a little more footage shown from Riverside Drive in Toluca lake, starting with a glimpse of one of the Herbert's Drive-Ins, and a Van de Kamp's bakery outlet windmill. LA history buffs may want to look at these scenes frame by frame to pick out all of the interesting background stuff!

I haven't been able to pinpoint the location of the runaway bed scene or the fire station where the car chase begins, however. Anyone have any ideas?
