I've recently started collecting Kurosawa's older films and while I can find most of them from BoYing (terrible picture quality, but great range of films), I can't find The Most Beautiful at all! Does this film exist on DVD?

One reason you may have had difficulty if searching Amazon (US and UK) is that they have listed it as being directed by the lead actor, not by Kurosawa. It is an unfortunate habit of theirs and I've submitted a request to amend today, 6th October.
The Meh Ah company released a DVD some time ago, but Netflix has stopped carrying it.

You can easily find it for download online...but a pretty abysmal picture, so unless you are trying to watch every single effort in Kurosawa's oeuvre, it's not worth your time and effort.

A long time after the previous discussion, but for us in the UK ther is now an Early Kurosawa box set from BFI. The two parts of Sanshiro Sugata, They who Step on the Tiger's Tail, No Regrets for our Youth, One Wonderful Sunday and The Most Beautiful. Good price on Amazon; I'm chomping my way through them this week.
