Home in Indiana should be on dvd

I keep on looking for this movie to be on cable but have a hard time finding it. It's not even available on vhs. This film is a classic and it's time for a dvd release. The folks at 20th century Fox, if you're reading this, please release this classic soon on dvd.

I second that!
Please PM me, janvol22, if you ever find it, I just checked Amazon, but they don't have it.

I've tried very hard to find this movie, too. It's not available to buy or to rent. And it isn't available through Netflix, TCM or AMC either. I wonder if it's ever been on vhs or dvd at all.

I checked on TCM.com for "Home in Indiana" and it is not available in any form. I'd like to see it also, it was filmed, in part, in my home town, Fremont, OH. The scenes at the fairgrounds grandstand was filmed there for sure.

The Fox Movie Channel sometimes shows it.

Yes. I believed Fox movie classics just aired it on the 1st of January. Trouble is, I don't have that channel.

I am really disappointed that "Home in Indiana", one of my all time favorites, is not on DVD. It's one of the most enjoyable and inspiring films of the 40s or any other time. The theme is timeless. I'm so old that I was around when it was first released in theaters. I have tried to see it on television every time it has been shown. I believe that Fox's pay channel FXM shows it from time to time, once very recently. It's just such a good clean All-American movie. Considering all the worthless movies that are on DVD, it's a shame that this excellent film is not on DVD. It's a family movie and also one that I believe would interest some youg children and teenagers. There's so much to be said about the movie itself and I'm sure that has been covered by others ... perhaps we should write TCM or Fox and urge them to release it on DVD. I think it would sell well if promoted properly.

Your post was almost three years ago. Has any progress been made? Jeanne Crain was featured in two movie on TCM tonight...State Fair and Pinky. I am so eager to see Home In Indiana because I'm from Indiana, in fact from Oxford, the home of Dan Patch, the most famous pacer ever. Let's have a Home in Indiana revival!

Here we are 5 years into the future and the movie is on FXM again. I raced standardbreds in Ohio and Kentucky and I thoroughly enjoy the racing scenes. The pounding of 40 hooves in a 10 horse field, the talk back and forth between the drivers, it brings back memories.

I doubt this will ever be on DVD and it will eventually stop showing on TV.....sad day that will be.
