I dont like Shakespear but


I would love to give this movie a try im a big fan of 40's cinema and early technicolour but for someone who cant stand shakespear would i like it ?

First of all there is no standard spelling of Shakespeare's name...he himself spelled it several differant ways....Seconly...to answer the question...if you like epic sweeping battle scenes then you might like to give this a try...you might find that all the action makes it easier to follow what is going on....

Even more weirdly, of the six unquestioned extant examples of William's signature, none of them is spelled 'Shakespeare'!

It's a great piece of cinema by any standards, and the Technicolor photography is outstanding. You might also look into Olivier's other Shakespeare films, Hamlet and Richard III, also great cinema as well as first-rate Shakespeare interpretation. Who knows--maybe you'll come to love the Bard.
