Slapping scene

I think the scene where one boy slapped the other many times over was pretty violent and unnecessary. Anyone else think so?

I thought it was hilarious, those 2 could've been a vaudeville act

Since the recipient of the slapping was Carl "alfalfa" Switzer, I've often wondered if he did anything later to get even. According to the documentary I saw on The Little Rascals, he caused a lot of trouble on the set.

I thought it was a stunt and that the film was speeded up to make it look like a real double slap (but way too fast for a non-super hero to do.
