That scene where Homer shows his arms to Wilma? Fairly raw by the standards of 1946, I would say.

It was a strong scene, but in 1946, when there were thousands of returning war veterans with disabling injuries just as severe as Homer's, it would have been well accepted, especially considering that it was real.

Good scene. I just wish they'd shortened the lead-up. I consider this movie almost flawless except that the solo-Homer scenes, alway from the guys, go on and on a bit.
